Culture, care and community - together

The Alternative Care Program is driven by our priority of keeping children and youth connected to their families, communities and culture.

We have seen an increase in our Kinship Care placements which allows children to maintain important familial and cultural ties. Kinship Care is grounded in the belief that, whenever possible, children should have the opportunity to live with extended family or those they feel connected to and that these connections promote the overall well-being of children and youth.

We continue to look for new foster homes and partnerships with other organizations when it is not possible for children to be placed with their family or within their community. Individuals interested in becoming a foster parent to children and youth can contact us.
