2026 Cultural Gathering in Lake Manitoba First Nation

Anishinaabe Pimadiziwin Inc. was honoured to gather with community members for our annual Cultural Gathering at the API Lake Manitoba sub-office.
The gathering began with our Grandmothers Walk for Addictions, bringing community members and staff together in prayer, song, and support for those impacted by addictions. Along the way, we smudged throughout the community and shared drum songs as we walked together.
Throughout the gathering, community members had opportunities to take part in ceremony, receive cultural and Elder supports, and spend time together in healing and connection. A sacred fire was lit and tended for four days, providing a place for prayer, reflection, and healing for those carrying grief, those affected by addictions, and the community as a whole.
It was beautiful to see community members come together throughout the week to participate in ceremony, sit by the fire, share meals, and support one another. The gathering concluded with a community feast, bringing everyone together once again in a spirit of kinship and gratitude.
The Cultural Gathering was made possible through the dedication of community members, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, helpers, and API staff who gave their time and energy to make these days possible.
